Transportation Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Operations Manager to join our team at Loblaw Companies Limited. As a key member of our supply chain operations, you will be responsible for leading the transportation function and ensuring the efficient movement of goods across our distribution network.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Transportation Strategies: Create and execute comprehensive transportation plans to optimize routes, reduce costs, and improve delivery times.
- Lead a High-Performing Team: Manage and develop a team of transportation professionals to ensure they have the skills and resources needed to succeed.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with other departments, including logistics, procurement, and operations, to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Drive Safety and Compliance: Develop and implement safety protocols to ensure the well-being of our drivers and the security of our cargo.
- Monitor and Analyze Performance Metrics: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of our transportation operations and identify areas for improvement.
- Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Continuously research and implement new technologies and best practices to stay ahead of the competition.
- University Degree and/or Post-Secondary Education: A degree in a relevant field, such as logistics, transportation, or business, is required.
- Senior Management Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a senior management role within the transportation industry is required.
- Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions is essential.
- Excellent Communication and Leadership Skills: Strong communication and leadership skills are required to manage a team and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Fluent Knowledge of Supply Chain Concepts and Methodologies: A thorough understanding of supply chain concepts and methodologies is required.
