About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Public Works Labourer to join our team at the Municipality of the District of Shelburne. As a key member of our public works department, you will play a vital role in maintaining the infrastructure and public spaces of our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain sidewalks, streets, roads, and public grounds to ensure a safe and healthy environment for residents and visitors.
  • Assist equipment operators in securing attachments to equipment or trucks, and participate in routine maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Load and unload trucks with supplies and equipment, and perform routine maintenance work as required.
  • Collaborate with skilled tradespersons to complete tasks and projects, and provide support in various aspects of public works operations.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Work Environment

This is a permanent, full-time position working 32.5 hours per week. The work language is English, and the work setting is primarily in a general office and municipal government environment, with occasional work in water and waste treatment utilities.
