Job Title: Guest Services Agent

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Guest Services Agent to join our team at Best Western Plus Otonabee Inn. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring their stay with us is memorable and enjoyable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guest Registration: Register arriving guests and assign rooms, ensuring a smooth and efficient check-in process.
  • Complaint Resolution: Investigate and resolve guest complaints and claims in a professional and timely manner.
  • Room Reservations: Process group arrivals and departures, take, cancel, and change room reservations as needed.
  • Hotel Information: Provide guests with information on hotel facilities and services, as well as points of interest in the area.
  • Cash Handling: Process guests' departures, calculate charges, and receive payments, balancing cash and completing balance sheets and related forms.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations, and room assignments.
  • Emergency Procedures: Follow emergency and safety procedures, ensuring the well-being of our guests and staff.
  • Clerical Duties: Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, as well as clerical tasks such as faxing, filing, and photocopying.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, answering telephone calls and relaying messages, and assisting guests with special needs.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in multi-line switchboard, word processing software, central reservation system (CRS), and spreadsheet software.
