Job Title: Senior Alumni Advancement Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Alumni Advancement Officer to join our team at the University of Waterloo. As a key member of our Advancement team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategic alumni programs that foster strong relationships between our Faculty of Environment and its alumni.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive alumni plan, including programs and initiatives that promote engagement and stewardship among Environment alumni.
  • Collaborate with the Environment Advancement Events and Strategic Marketing Manager to build a successful Alumni Reunion Program, recruit class champions, and engage alumni through various events and activities.
  • Manage the Faculty of Environment Alumni Achievement Award program, recognizing and celebrating the achievements of our distinguished alumni.
  • Strategically leverage existing and new opportunities to keep alumni connected, including volunteer activities, mentoring programs, and co-op and internship opportunities for current students.
  • Manage a team of volunteers, developing and evaluating volunteer opportunities to ensure a positive and engaging experience.
  • Conduct research on alumni demographics to inform program development and evaluation.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required; education or training in Communications or a related field preferred.
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience in relationship development and management, preferably in a university environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff, including senior leadership, across an organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of work with conflicting priorities and deadlines.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and a Customer Relationship Management software; Raiser's Edge preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
