About the Position

As a Registered Pharmacy Technician, you will contribute to the delivery of safe, competent, and patient-centered care, ensuring that the individual needs and goals of patients are prioritized. Your responsibilities will include preparing, packaging, and dispensing medications under the direct oversight of a pharmacist. Key duties involve compounding both sterile and non-sterile dosage forms, dispensing medications to inpatients and outpatients, entering physician orders, utilizing automation, managing inventory, conducting medication reconciliation, and engaging with CIVA systems. You will also prepare chemotherapy doses, distribute narcotics, and take part in quality assurance programs and patient safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program

• Eligibility for licensure and registration in Nova Scotia as a Pharmacy Technician (NSCP) is required

• Proficiency in additional languages is an advantage; French is preferred

Work Schedule

Compensation
  • Graduate Pharmacy Technician: $23.19 per hour
  • Registered Technician: $24.96 per hour upon proof of registration
