This role is part of the PE Stamping division, focusing on enhancing press lines and robotic systems through vendor collaboration. The ideal candidate will oversee vendor selection and ensure project alignment with operational goals. A successful Project Lead will possess robust planning skills and a background in Controls Engineering.

The Production Engineering Stamping Department seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Project Lead. This position involves managing procurement and installation initiatives for tooling upgrades, safety enhancements, and vehicle model transitions. Reporting to the Stamping Equipment Engineering Manager, the individual will aid in the installation, start-up, troubleshooting, and modification of stamping equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Direct a project team of controls engineers, technicians, contractors, and equipment suppliers to execute stamping equipment projects, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, productivity, and cost objectives.
  2. Investigate, develop, and apply innovative safety, quality assurance, and production technologies.
  3. Through training and practical experience, become a technical authority in Stamping Equipment.
  4. Mentor and guide new engineers and interns on best practices in stamping equipment.
  5. Contribute to global knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (higher qualifications such as an MBA are advantageous).
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Manufacturing or Stamping Industry.
  3. At least 5 years of project management experience.
  4. Eligibility for Professional Engineer designation in Ontario.
  5. Proficient in analyzing electrical and mechanical schematics, as well as PLC systems.
  6. Excellent documentation and communication skills, proficient in Microsoft365 tools including Excel, PowerBI, Project, and PowerPoint.
