Exciting Opportunity at StandardAero
We are seeking a skilled Painter/Prepper to join our team at the Langley Operations Department, Helicopter Repair Center. This is a 12-month contract position that will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to learn and apply their skills in refinishing helicopter paint surfaces with unique paint schemes and graphics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare aircraft parts for refinishing, including sanding, plastic media blasting, cleaning, and masking.
- Refinish surfaces by applying primer, paint, stencils, and decals.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Ensure equipment, including paint booth, spray guns, and air hoses, are properly maintained.
- Document all work accomplished in a clear and concise manner.
- Perform work while adhering to applicable procedures and standards.
- May perform other duties as required by the department.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or technical school equivalent.
- Two years of experience as an automotive or aircraft painter preferred.
- Knowledge of proper paint preparation.
- Good communication skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, walk, bend, stretch, and climb ladders.
- Must have the ability to manipulate equipment of all sizes, tools, computer keyboards, and telephones.
- Must be able to see to disassemble and visually inspect.
- Must have excellent hand-to-eye coordination.
