Employment Conditions:
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada is required.
  • A satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check must be provided.
  • A satisfactory Adult Abuse Registry Check is necessary.
  • Possession and maintenance of a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver's Licence is mandatory.
  • Physical capability to travel within designated areas, including on gravel and winter ice roads, by small aircraft/float planes, and by boat.
Qualifications:
Essential:
  • Proven experience in executing minor and major renovations and maintenance tasks, including carpentry (installation, removal, and repairs), plumbing related to faucets, toilets, water, and sewage systems; painting; mechanical equipment and appliance repairs; and heating system maintenance.
  • Experience adhering to safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to compile inspection reports and document follow-up information on work orders.
  • Capacity to perform effectively under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize critical issues and operate efficiently within limited timeframes.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to engage effectively with tenants and the public.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
Desired:
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook.
Key Responsibilities: The Facilities Maintenance Technician will oversee the execution of maintenance tasks within an assigned portfolio, ensuring compliance with Manitoba Housing's policies, procedures, and guidelines. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, preparing scopes of work for maintenance repairs, and maintaining inventories of materials, supplies, and equipment. The incumbent will prepare and submit necessary documentation related to maintenance and tenant concerns to the Supervisor. Additionally, the individual may assume the role of Operations Manager as required.
