We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Designer to join our team at IBI Group. As a Mechanical Engineering Designer, you will be responsible for designing and engineering industrial systems, including compressed air, lubrication, and fueling systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and engineer industrial systems, including compressed air, lubrication, and fueling systems
  • Develop and express design intent as concept drawings or sketches
  • Perform computerized analysis of heating and cooling loads
  • Design and engineer building-related systems, including HVAC, process exhaust, hydronics, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection
  • Conceptualize and prepare industrial layouts
  • Develop and write engineering study reports
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
  • Perform energy analysis using computer modeling
  • Verify and ensure compliance with energy standards
  • Responsible for production of construction documents and construction administration for projects
  • Develop man-hours for proposal estimates
  • Make technical presentations to clients
  • Develop business with current and new clients
  • Involvement in engineering societies
  • Coordinate staffing needs for projects
  • Provide technical training and education to staff
Requirements:
  • Years of experience in mechanical design of industrial and transit facilities
  • Strong background in industrial/automotive facilities and areas is an asset
  • Licensed member of PEO (P. Eng.) preferred
  • Well-versed in AutoCAD MEP, Micro Station, Revit, and 3D software
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for internal and client interaction
  • Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments
  • Ability to provide leadership to groups of engineers and designers on projects
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship
  • Excellent knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Code, Plumbing Code, NFPA, and ASHRAE standards
