Job Title: QA Lead

As a key member of our team at T-Net British Columbia, you will be responsible for leading a cross-discipline test group, consisting of multiple teams with expertise in functional and technical testing, performance and stability testing, and manual testing. This position maintains and communicates test processes to ensure the group achieves its goal - ensuring the quality of the solution produced by vendor teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive test strategies, approaches, and execution for applications and services of the POS Solution, including Oracle XStore and SAP.
  • Lead a core team of leads on test execution, test case/strategy management, and reporting to enable stakeholders to make data-driven decisions for successful product releases.
  • Educate the group on effective methodologies for manual testing, automated testing, regression testing, and confident release engineering models. Provide technical guidance, direction, coaching, and mentoring to members and oversee the delivery of commitments.
  • Establish standards and guidelines and ensure members of the group follow them.
  • Report on the performance of the team to the project manager.
  • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and vendor teams to ensure necessary testing prerequisites are provided to the test team and that we are focusing our efforts in the areas of the highest priority.
  • Collaborate with test group leads, soliciting test requirements, deciding on test strategy (e.g., manual vs. automation), and architecting automation solutions as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with agile development teams to enable incremental testing and verification of new features.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree.
  • 8+ years of experience in the high technology industry working as a test manager in a similar capacity.
  • Strong proficiency in JIRA tools for project management, requirements, and testing.
  • Strong working knowledge of industry standards and best practices for QA and test automation. Deep expertise in manual and automated test planning and execution.
  • Excellent knowledge of tools commonly used to facilitate software QA with demonstrated ability to deploy these tools in the past.
  • Experience with building automation-driven test and release systems.
  • Familiarity with version control, bug tracking, and CI/CD systems.
  • Solid experience with at least one test automation framework.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The position requires persuasiveness and communication fluency.
  • Solid interpersonal skills are required to function appropriately in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent software releases assisted by automation.
