Aircraft Structural Technician

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a skilled Aircraft Structural Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Periodic Inspection Crews, you will be responsible for supporting refinishing and structural repairs, as well as preserving and maintaining unavailable aircraft under our control.
Responsibilities- Employed in the Refinishing or Metal Work Shop, you will carry out shop-related tasks as an ACS technician and provide technical expertise and guidance for DND personnel under training and junior technicians.
- As a subject matter expert, you will provide consistent and continuous support to shop personnel to ensure production and support phase inspections.
- You will assist with support to periodic inspections, conditional inspections, supplementary inspections, modifications, or special inspections in accordance with the Canadian Forces Technical Orders (CFTO) and established work instructions.
- You will attend training/information sessions as required and keep the Lead Hand/Supervisor informed on technical problems, schedule problems, additional requirements, and technician welfare.
- You will follow Tool Control rules and regulations, consult reference documentation, complete aircraft inspection sheets, forms, aircraft sets, registers, and other documentation properly and as required.
- You will utilize safe working practices and carry out additional tasks as assigned by the Lead Hand/Supervisor.
- You will conform to the administrative and technical regulations of the establishment to which you are assigned, with regard to Health and Safety, Flight Safety, Documentation and records, Work Instruction, and Processes specifications.
- The ACS Technician shall have qualifications in the following areas: Aircraft Refinishing, which includes special processes like aircraft and components painting, Alodine, and Sealant application; Aircraft structural repairs (secondary and tertiary structures); General metal work, including heat treatment processes; Special Inspections (NS) and Field Modifications (CF) and CD (contractor modifications that can be accomplished and certified within their qualifications; Metal to metal bonding; Basic composite repairs; Aircraft tubing manufacturing; and a basic knowledge with machining operations.
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada "Reliability" status and/or Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
