LOCATION
NHH is situated approximately 100 kilometres east of Toronto, serving a vibrant community by providing a wide array of acute, post-acute, outpatient, and diagnostic services. We cater to a growing population of over 60,000 residents across diverse urban and rural settings, employing around 750 staff members and benefiting from a supportive network of physicians, midwives, and volunteers.

ROLE OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Program Manager, the RPN collaborates within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver care to assigned patients or groups of patients, utilizing the nursing process effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Required
Must be currently registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario Hold a current B.C.L.S. certification CC1 certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months Capable of performing additional nursing skills as needed Strong ability to prioritize workload Effective communication skills with the interprofessional team, patients, and their families Adhere to safe work practices and maintain a healthy work environment through participation in educational programs and following health and safety policies Physical capability to lift, pull, push, carry, reach, and support patients Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive bending Capacity to focus on complex tasks in a dynamic environment Above-average written and verbal communication skills, including active listening Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills Availability to work 2-3 shifts per week and 2 out of 4 weekendsASSETS
Completion or willingness to complete the Coronary Care Course Previous experience in a medical/surgical unitEMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Successful candidates must provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal reference check, completed within the last year. This requirement must be fulfilled within the first sixty (60) days of employment.
Additionally, successful candidates are required to complete the Health Care Worker Health review process, which includes submitting an up-to-date immunization record to comply with the Ontario Hospital Association Communicable Diseases Surveillance Protocols within the first thirty (30) days of employment. Northumberland Hills Hospital has a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all staff.
