Healthcare Team Member, Acute Care

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team at Northumberland Hills Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to the delivery of high-quality medical services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional nursing care to patients in an acute care setting, adhering to established standards and protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring seamless coordination and communication.
- Conduct thorough assessments, identify patient needs, and develop effective care strategies to promote optimal patient outcomes.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the enhancement of patient care and hospital operations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams, fostering a culture of respect and empathy.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Possession of B.C.L.S.
- Successful completion of Coronary Care One course or within 6 months.
- Competency to perform added nursing skills as required.
- Ability to work in an active, rapidly changing, stressful environment with multiple demands.
- Ability to make decisions and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to focus on complex instructions and tasks in an environment with many distractions.
- Ability to function as a team member and maintain good interpersonal relations while performing duties.
- Physical ability to lift, pull, push, carry, reach, and physically support patients with assistance, as required.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time with repetitive bending.
- Follows safe and healthy work practices and maintains a safe and healthy work environment through attendance at educational programs, training in Smart Moves program, use of established reporting mechanisms for injuries, illness, and hazards, and adherence to health and safety-related policies and procedures.
- Willingness to obtain a minimum of Coronary Care 1 within the first 6 months of employment.
- Preference will be given to applicants with 2 or more years of medical/surgical/acute experience.
- Successful applicants are required to provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal reference check, completed less than one year from the date of hire.
- Successful applicants are also required to complete the Health Care Worker Health review process, including providing an up-to-date immunization record, to ensure compliance with the Ontario Hospital Association Communicable Diseases Surveillance Protocols.
