Job Title: Satellite Systems Engineer

Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled Satellite Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our technology client's team, you will be responsible for leading and developing system requirements from the mission level down to the subsystem level, focusing on either the mechanical or electrical aspects (Platform, Payload, Ground Segment).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform mission design trade-off studies and develop performance budgets
  • Support mission development through tasks like link budgets and geolocation accuracy
  • Review subcontractor designs for compliance and use a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach for satellite modeling
  • Develop test procedures and support verification and validation activities
  • Monitor suppliers and perform evaluations of electrical and RF performance
  • Participate in program reviews (EQSR, SRR, PDR, CDR) and support satellite assembly integration, testing, and in-orbit testing (IOT)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering in a relevant field with 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Previous design and test experience with LEO/MEO satellites and sub-systems
  • Strong understanding of the space environment, orbit mechanics, and aerospace systems
  • Experience with qualification and acceptance testing of new satellite designs
  • Demonstrated capability to test RF systems and resolve problems
  • Hands-on experience leading systems integration processes
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision and attention to detail
  • Experience with models, simulations, and satellite subsystems testing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of French
  • Experience leading and coaching a technical team
  • Experience supporting spacecraft operations during critical phases
