Field Service Technician for Heavy Equipment

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician specializing in Heavy Equipment to support our Distribution Business.
The ideal candidate will possess a journeyman certification in heavy-duty equipment with experience in field service. This position is a hybrid role that encompasses on-the-job training in Power Generation, Marine applications, and involvement in new project launches, alongside diagnostics and repairs of Cummins engines.
Regular travel is required, with all meals and accommodations provided, along with allowances as per the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on engines and associated components at customer locations with minimal supervision.
- Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring their needs are met promptly and efficiently.
- Utilize specialized tools and adhere to documented procedures to diagnose and execute basic repairs, including preparing necessary parts and tools.
- Refer unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians or Supervisors.
- Conduct preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules and standards for power generation products in the field.
- Complete necessary documentation, including service worksheets, timesheets, and warranty claims, either through handwritten forms or business system inputs.
- Maintain service vehicle and tools in a clean and operational condition.
- Comply with all relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures, and regulations.
Qualifications:
Education and Certifications:
- Certified Heavy Duty Equipment Technician
- Current relevant electrical certification
- Valid local driver's license
This role may necessitate licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
- Intermediate level of experience in workshop settings is required.
- Intermediate knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products.
- Experience with High Voltage and Low Voltage systems.
This position operates Monday through Friday, with a standard work week of 42.5 hours. The compensation package starts in the 93K range, commensurate with experience and in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary is aligned with experience. Additional benefits may vary by location and include options such as a Company Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, and a comprehensive array of personal and professional benefits.
