Assistant Chief of Police - City of Medicine Hat

In the role of Assistant Chief of Police, you will report directly to the Chief of Police and collaborate with the Executive Team to ensure the alignment of strategic objectives, operational effectiveness, and community involvement initiatives. This position involves overseeing various divisions, managing resources efficiently, and implementing innovative strategies to improve public safety.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with leadership to establish the organizational vision and key priorities
  • Direct and oversee daily operations across multiple divisions
  • Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders and partners
  • Manage budgetary, personnel, and technological resources effectively
  • Ensure adherence to legal standards and ethical practices

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 15 years of experience in law enforcement
  • Proven leadership in strategic planning and crisis management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience in fostering diversity and inclusion within the workplace
