Position Summary

As a key member of the Procurement team, you will play a vital role in shaping both short-term and long-term Commodity strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Supplier Quality teams to identify suppliers that align with Harbinger Motors' Approved Supplier Criteria.
  • Manage a select group of suppliers within your designated commodity category, which may include Structure, Chassis, Battery, e-Axle (Powertrain), Thermal, Electricals/Electronics, and ADAS.
  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for sourcing assigned commodities in close partnership with the engineering team.
  • Oversee the RFI/RFQ/RFP processes and formulate procurement strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Negotiate advantageous contracts covering parts pricing, tooling costs, and Engineering Services (NRE / EDT).
  • Act as the primary point of contact for commercial escalations, efficiently resolving issues and making decisions related to strategic execution and tactical challenges.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Engineering, Finance, and Strategy, to support scope development, product cost analysis, manufacturing technology, delivery, and quality assurance.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of total direct material expenditures to uncover opportunities for enhancements and strategic initiatives.
  • Propose solutions to business challenges and identify areas for improvement, presenting your insights to senior leadership.
  • Foster success by empowering your team, leading by example, and removing obstacles.

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, supply chain, or finance field, with 2-3 years of experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Engineering, preferably within the automotive sector; a Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
  • 2-5+ years of experience in Purchasing/Supply Chain management, focusing on strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
  • Strong understanding of pricing models, industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proven ability to identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements; familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite or Oracle is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Highly organized with a strategic mindset, capable of prioritizing multiple projects and effectively managing change.
  • In-depth knowledge of assigned commodities, relevant technologies, and key cost drivers.
  • Experience in building high-performing strategic purchasing teams and nurturing talent into leadership roles.
