Position Overview
As a key member of the Procurement team, you will play a vital role in shaping the Commodity strategies for both immediate and long-term objectives. Your primary focus will be on designing, developing, and implementing effective Commodity strategies while supporting daily Purchasing needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Supplier Quality to identify potential suppliers that align with Harbinger's Approved Supplier Criteria.
  • Manage a critical set of suppliers within designated commodity groups, including Structure, Chassis, Battery, e-Axle (Powertrain), Thermal, and Electricals/Electronics.
  • Formulate and execute a strategic vision for sourcing assigned commodities in close partnership with the engineering team.
  • Oversee the RFI/RFQ/RFP processes and develop procurement strategies, policies, and systems.
  • Negotiate advantageous contracts covering parts pricing, tooling costs, and Engineering Services.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for commercial escalations, efficiently resolving issues and making strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as Engineering, Finance, and Strategy on scope development, product costs, and quality.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of total direct material spend to uncover improvement opportunities.
  • Propose solutions to business challenges and present strategic ideas to senior leadership.
  • Drive team success by empowering members, leading by example, and removing obstacles.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, supply chain, or finance discipline, with 2-3 years of experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Engineering, preferably in the automotive sector; a Master's or MBA is preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Purchasing/Supply Chain management, including strategic sourcing and supplier management.
  • Strong understanding of pricing models, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Proven ability to identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements; familiarity with ERP systems like NetSuite or Oracle.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Highly organized with a strategic mindset, capable of managing multiple projects and driving them to completion.
  • Deep knowledge of assigned commodities and their cost drivers.
  • Experience in building high-performing strategic purchasing teams and nurturing talent.
