Job Title: Collections Specialist

Robert Half is seeking a skilled Collections Specialist to join our team in the Oakville, Ontario region. As a Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the processing of payments, updating customer files, and maintaining quality customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the processing of payments and update customer files to ensure data integrity
  • Maintain quality customer service and a positive company image by resolving customer account inquiries
  • Manage all billing and reporting activities in line with deadlines
  • Manage inbound and outbound collections calls and correspondence
  • Ensure bankruptcy filings are processed in the correct manner when received
  • Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. written correspondence, phone contact, skip-tracing, and making arrangements for payment
  • Comply with all rules and regulations established by the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act
  • Log all customer payments to the correct reports
Requirements:
  • Ability to analyze customer accounts and make decisions based on those analyses
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Cash Collections
  • Command of Collect Outstanding
  • Collection Processes experience
  • Experience with consumer collections
  • Proficiency in Collecting Payments
  • Adeptness in Collector
  • 2+ years of prior high volume collections experience
  • Prior experience working with collections/accounting software
  • Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills
  • AA or BS/BA in Accounting preferred
