Position Overview:

The individual in this role will report directly to the Supervisor/Manager and will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of various facilities including camp, office structures, mill, crusher, and additional buildings managed by Sodexo.

This position emphasizes the importance of privacy, dignity, independence, and fulfillment for all clients, promoting respect and encouraging active participation in all cleaning tasks.

  • Maintain premises in a neat and organized condition.
  • Perform cleaning duties on light fixtures, ceilings, vents, walls, furniture, windows, and floors.
  • Utilize various cleaning methods such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and sweeping.
  • Restock supplies as necessary.
  • Assist in moving furniture and delivering requisition orders.
  • Report any maintenance needs for equipment or items requiring repair.
  • Communicate ordering needs to the manager effectively.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company regulations.
  • Engage positively with clients while respecting their rights to choice, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
  • Conduct custodial tasks to ensure a healthy, safe, and sanitary environment.
  • Travel between various locations on the site as required.
  • Complete cleaning duty checklists as assigned.
  • Safely maintain job-related equipment, materials, and supplies to ensure safety for staff and the public.
  • Ensure proper reporting, documentation, and communication with supervisors.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training activities.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred one year of relevant experience.
  • Experience in custodial or janitorial roles is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with cleaning procedures, chemicals, products, and equipment.
  • Ability to operate tools and equipment and perform the physical aspects of the job.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices including WHMIS and SIMDUT.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including split shifts and weekends.
  • Commitment to safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Ability to follow directions, adapt to changing priorities, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong work ethic and capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Team-oriented with a respectful and cooperative approach.
  • Ability to work under supervision and adhere to standard procedures and health and safety regulations.
