We are seeking a skilled Drilling Machine Operator to join our team at Terracana Foundation Solutions Inc.

Job Summary

The Drilling Machine Operator will be responsible for operating drilling machines to drill blast holes in rock at road or other construction sites. The ideal candidate will have experience in drilling and blasting, and be able to work safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate drilling machines to drill blast holes in rock at road or other construction sites
  • Measure location and stake out pattern of holes to be drilled, load blast holes with explosives and detonate explosives to dislodge coal, ore or rock
  • Assemble or direct other workers to assemble primer charges using selected detonators, fuses, detonating cords and other materials
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
  • Read instructions or diagrams and lay out drill patterns
  • Determine depth and diameter of blast holes
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in drilling and blasting
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to read and follow instructions
