Job Summary:
Sensity Deafblind and Sensory Support Network of Canada is seeking a Part Time Intervenor to support individuals with dual sensory impairment in their daily lives. As an Intervenor, you will play a vital role in facilitating communication and independence for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support individuals in their home and community environments to promote independence and daily living skills.
- Use communication techniques to relay information and empower individuals to participate in daily activities.
- Assist with developing and supporting individual goals and objectives.
- Provide personal care as required, including lifts and transfers, toileting, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
- Assist with program development and ensure documentation and records are complete.
Requirements:
- Completion of a college diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program or a related human services field.
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors.
- Experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions.
- Communication skills in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE).
- A valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and a clean current driver's abstract.

- This position requires repetitive hand motion and good manual dexterity.

- The position will be required to work indoors and outdoors.
