About the Role:

The Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in the daily operation of the pharmacy, ensuring the effective distribution of medications to patients. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and distribute pharmaceutical products, including sterile and non-sterile preparations
  • Receive and triage medication orders, ensuring accurate and timely processing
  • Compound and repackage medication, maintaining high standards of quality and safety
  • Provide clinical support to healthcare teams, including medication reconciliation and clarification of discrepancies
  • Participate in special projects and programs, contributing to the improvement of pharmacy services

Requirements:

  • Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a pharmacy setting, with a focus on sterile and non-sterile preparation
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, including medication distribution and management
