About the Role

The National Arts Centre is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warewasher to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization in our dishroom and kitchen areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, clean, and put away dishes, pots, and pans used in our restaurants, banquet rooms, and main kitchen
• Maintain the cleanliness of kitchen floors, counters, equipment, and other areas as required
• Take care of garbage and other related duties as needed
• Work collaboratively with our culinary team to ensure seamless service
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, and pulling carts weighing up to 100lbs
• Be available to work days, evenings, and weekend shifts as required
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and management in both official languages (English and French)

Requirements

• Completion of grade 11 high school education
• Two (2) years of experience as a warewasher or in a related role
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment
• Physical stamina to perform tasks that require lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
• Ability to communicate effectively in both official languages (English and French)
• A past record of satisfactory attendance and punctuality is a requirement
