About the Opportunity

The Advanced Care Paramedic plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Health Services Manager, this individual will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to meet patient needs and support the delivery of exceptional care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for practicing within the Advanced Care Paramedic scope of practice, demonstrating competencies in patient care, and maintaining current registration with the College of Paramedics of Nova Scotia. They will also contribute to the efficiency and effective functioning of the department, supporting the development of colleagues and students through precepting and mentorship.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual with a strong background in paramedicine. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Grade XII required
  • Registered and licensed with the College of Paramedics of Nova Scotia (CPNS) required
  • One (1) year of experience working as an Advanced Care Paramedic an asset
  • Current BLS (HCP) Certification required
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Previous work experience in a hospital setting or emergency care preferred
  • Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, patient assessment, and telecommunication skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent, part-time position with 30 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $31.52 - $36.57. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
