About Our Client

TALINKO - Recrutement de Cadres is seeking a highly skilled Chief Financial Officer to join their Montreal-based team. Our client is a privately owned company in the distribution sector, renowned for its innovative products and commitment to excellence.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the company's growth, both organically and through strategic acquisitions. With a strong presence in Quebec and an international reach, our client is poised for continued success.

As a key member of the management team, the Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for leading the financial strategy, ensuring the company's financial stability, and driving growth through informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting Management:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and proposing solutions.
  • Provide expert advice on tax and financial matters to executive management.
  • Implement asset and intellectual property management controls.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of budgeting and accounting systems.
  • Develop and monitor budgets and key performance indicators.
  • Contribute to team meetings and ensure the application of best practices in accounting and finance.

Growth & Acquisitions:

  • Manage all financing and investment projects, developing and maintaining excellent relationships with investors and financial institutions.
  • Advise on and lead business acquisition processes, aligning with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Participate in the integration of acquisitions, reviewing current systems and processes.

Human Resources, Legal Affairs & Administration:

  • Provide effective human resources management and leadership to the accounting and IT teams.
  • Supervise the production of financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Oversee the application of internal policies, legal aspects, and human resources management procedures.
  • Guide, mentor, and evaluate employees, providing active leadership within the department.
Requirements

Education:

  • University degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Recognized accounting designation (CPA).

Professional Experience:

  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience within the finance and accounting function.
  • Experience in the distribution sector is an asset.
  • Experience with SMEs.
  • Experience in ERP system implementation or migration.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary team management.

Competencies:

  • Excellent business acumen in an international corporate environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in treasury management, financial analysis, and planning.
  • Bilingualism, both written and spoken.
