We are seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to collaborate on-site with a premier cross-disciplinary team specializing in Virtual Reality and Robotics at Blackbird Interactive. This role involves executing testing protocols and workflow requirements utilizing cutting-edge virtual reality simulation technology and proprietary software.

As a part of your responsibilities, you will operate VR systems in a 'Pilot' capacity and manage data collection in a 'CoPilot' role. Over time, this position may evolve to include the teleoperation of the studio's versatile robots.

In addition to operating VR systems, you will be expected to provide insights on test scenarios, suggest workflow enhancements, and contribute to feature development. Depending on your expertise, you may also participate in the formulation of test plans, direct specific tests, and evaluate issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate advanced virtual reality equipment, executing a variety of physical test scenarios that will be recorded within the studio's proprietary software.
  • Oversee the activities of fellow Analysts utilizing VR equipment and compile relevant data.
  • Acquire proficiency in piloting VR simulators and, eventually, robots, while ensuring the integrity of the hardware.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement new test cases, best practices, and workflows.
  • Communicate the status of test cases effectively to department leaders and development teams.
  • Document and update tickets within the project management database.
  • Provide daily status reports and trend analyses to QA leadership and the development team.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a Quality Assurance role.
  • On-site work is required for the duration of the contract.
  • Basic understanding of Virtual and Augmented Reality technologies.
  • Manual dexterity is essential for operating VR equipment.
  • Familiarity with Video Games QA processes and testing terminology.
  • Proficient in business tools such as spreadsheets and word processors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across diverse audiences.
  • Able to function effectively within a highly collaborative cross-disciplinary team.
  • This role may involve physical demands, including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong grasp of Virtual and Augmented Reality technologies.
  • Basic understanding of Linux operating systems.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages, such as JavaScript or Python.
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling software or video game engines.
  • Experience with project management tools like Jira.

Work Schedule

  • Full-time, 6-month contract.
  • Morning and evening shifts available.
  • 4-day work shifts rotating from Monday to Friday.

Compensation ranges from $55,000 to $65,000 annually.
