Job Summary:

As a Quality Control Specialist at Arc'teryx, you will be part of a small team of resident experts on quality control standards and processes. You will work closely with local and overseas quality specialists to develop, implement, and monitor the most effective and efficient quality control standards and processes. Your expertise will enable us to maintain our product and brand integrity by upholding the highest quality standards in technical apparel production.

About the Role:

This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada. You will be working on a cross-functional team of experts responsible for the quality control, assurance, and compliance of our raw materials and finished goods. Our local QC Team interfaces heavily with the Hong-Kong based Sourcing and Quality teams, and you will have the opportunity to partner directly with these teams to achieve quality finished goods that meet the highest quality standards in technical apparel product.

Key Responsibilities:

Developing product specific QC standards, by working closely with our product integrity, product development and overseas QC teams
Developing innovative QC processes by working directly with our local and overseas Quality Team to establish standardized methods of inspection and process control
Guiding and training our QC team as we define and document our standards in greater detail
Managing inspection processes domestically and overseas through our inspection platform
Creating inspection workflows to optimize individual QC efficiencies for specific product types and factories
Working with the other QC Specialists, Quality Data Specialist and QC Manager to understand the elements of product quality that have the greatest impact on customer satisfaction
Partnering with Product Development and Product Integrity, as well as our overseas factories to create inspection plans specific to new and existing product types
Visiting overseas factories to implement and train factory personnel and our overseas team on critical product standards

Future Opportunities:

Partnering with Technical Specialist and PDs to help create model-level quality risk mitigation plans
Mentoring junior Specialists on Arc'teryx standards and processes
Working with a team of technical specialists to refine processes to more efficiently achieve our standards

Requirements:

2+ years' experience quality control, in the apparel industry
Professional experience working with waterproof laminate materials such as Gore Tex
Formal training in quality control methods and best practices
Experience in garment development and production
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to balance and focus on multiple, overlapping priorities and deadlines without losing sight of the big picture
Strong verbal and written English communication skills
Good problem solving skills and the grit to persevere through challenging issues
Experience working in a diverse, cross-cultural team
