About the Role

Bruce Power is seeking a highly skilled and experienced First Line Manager, Maintenance to join our Equipment Performance Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of maintenance personnel and contract staff in the safe and effective execution of maintenance work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of maintenance personnel and/or contract staff in the safe and effective execution of maintenance work.
  • Develop and implement recommendations for improvement in maintenance plans and procedures, tools, and techniques.
  • Observe and ensure adherence to safety practices and work methods.
  • Provide effective support to the Manager in the planning, organization, administration, scheduling, and execution of short and long-term maintenance programs/unit outages.
  • Develop and maintain maintenance training, strategies, processes, programs, and plans.
  • Ensure the safety of assigned staff and account for the output of assigned staff.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of the standards and practices for MCR Execution-Life Extension section.
  • Leadership, management, and observational skills.
  • Requires knowledge of control, mechanical, or civil technology sufficient to understand the assembly, function, operations, and mechanics of applicable equipment, systems, and materials.
  • Requires on-the-job experience in a power plant, refinery, or chemical plant associated with the installation, operation, and maintenance of same.
  • Requires familiarity with the use of manufacturers' equipment manuals and specifications.
  • Requires maintenance experience to efficiently handle unplanned trouble-shooting activities.
  • Requires sound practical experience to understand, coach, and influence mixed services personnel.
Education and Experience

This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the completion of Grade XII plus 2 years' further concentrated study (including trade certification) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil, or by having the equivalent level of education.

A period of over 6 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
