Reporting to the Associate Director, Student Affairs, the Wellness Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering a positive and inclusive campus culture that enhances the overall wellness of the diverse student population at Douglas College.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a comprehensive campus health promotion/wellness program that aligns with the College's strategic plans and policies.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to educate students and the College community on the link between wellness and learning, and student success.
- Conduct campus needs assessments to inform wellness programming through surveys and student focus groups.
- Plan and implement health promotion programming, including wellness events, training, and educational materials.
- Ensure all wellness programming aligns with College policies and initiatives.
- Support the College in designing and implementing programming that meets provincial mandates.
- Conduct program evaluations and implement changes to ensure programs continue to support the wellness strategy.
- Provide guidance and support to the wellness peer leadership program.
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Promotion, Health Education, Public Health, or a related field, with a minimum of two years of related work experience.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing student-focused, holistic health promotion/wellness programming.
- Knowledge of health promotion issues and well-being challenges faced by a diverse post-secondary student population.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, partners, and College employees.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a minimum of supervision.
