Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Campus Wellness Strategist to join our team at Douglas College. The successful candidate will play a key role in planning, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive campus health promotion/wellness program that fosters a positive and inclusive culture.

About the Role

The Campus Wellness Strategist is responsible for working collaboratively with key stakeholders to develop and implement wellness strategies that support student success. This includes planning and conducting campus needs assessments, developing and implementing health promotion programming, and providing oversight to wellness operations on all Douglas College campuses.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive campus wellness strategy that aligns with the College's strategic plans and policies.
  • Program Development: Plan and conduct campus needs assessments to inform wellness programming, and develop and implement health promotion initiatives that support student success.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with key stakeholders, including Student Life Coordinators, Counselling and Student Support departments, and community organizations, to integrate wellness into campus programs and services.
  • Operations: Provide oversight to wellness operations on all Douglas College campuses, including developing and administering operating budgets, hiring and supervising student assistants, and ensuring compliance with College procedures.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Health Promotion, Health Education, Public Health or related field, together with a minimum of two years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing student-focused, holistic health promotion/wellness programming that supports student success based on best-practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a good working knowledge of the English language (written and verbal).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Valid B.C. Drivers' license or access to a reliable transportation to accommodate activities at all campuses.
Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical and dental insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
