Position Overview

Under the guidance of the Business Development Manager, the Business Development Associate will be a self-sufficient, assertive, and skilled professional with a natural talent for networking, cultivating meaningful relationships, and establishing robust industry connections. Proficient communication, solid technical expertise, and effective sales abilities are crucial for thriving in this role. The position offers the flexibility to work from our corporate office in either Saint John, NB or Halifax, NS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a strong customer portfolio to achieve the sales objectives set by the organization.
  • Engage in regular travel within the designated territory to approach current and prospective clients for project bidding or negotiations.
  • Support and guide the estimating team in preparing quotes and budget proposals.
  • Foster and nurture relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, particularly in the erection phase.
  • Provide insights on market trends, sales analytics, and relevant industry intelligence as needed.
  • Leverage our CRM system (MS Dynamics) to monitor potential projects and strategize customer engagement.
  • Represent the organization with professionalism and respect in all interactions.

Technical Qualifications

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management Technology is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Construction Documents and drawings is considered a significant advantage.

Business Skills

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment while independently expanding a new customer base.
  • Previous sales experience is viewed as a valuable asset.
