We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team at Braze. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our internal-facing services and platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with our engineering teams to architect products that effectively utilize infrastructure platforms in a scalable and reliable manner.
- Debug reliability and scalability issues across all stack layers, including products built using our infrastructure platforms.
- Develop and implement monitoring and alerting systems to prevent outages and ensure high uptime.
- Ensure that Braze meets its strict enterprise-grade SLAs with customers.
- Develop Braze's internal platform infrastructure using infrastructure as code tools such as Chef, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
- Develop deployment pipelines for applications in multiple languages using Docker, Kubernetes, and other tools.
- Provide centralized and common tooling, services, and automation frameworks to support scaling operations, capacity management, and reducing operational pain.
- Manage incidents and respond to availability incidents using PagerDuty.
- 3+ years of experience as a Software, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineer.
- Strong understanding of systems, including interfaces, boundaries, edge cases, failure modes, behaviors, and specific implementations.
- Ability to collaborate with global remote teams and work asynchronously.
- Excellent documentation skills to ensure knowledge sharing and reduce duplication of effort.
- Strong programming skills, with a preference for Ruby and/or Go.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, or similar infrastructure as code technologies.
- Experience with MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, Postgres, or similar data technologies.
