Key Responsibilities- Relationship Building
- Apply relationship selling and relationship management principles and techniques to all commercial members and prospects.
- Provide complete financial solutions to meet all commercial and personal banking needs.
- Risk Management
- Accountable for risk management of the commercial loan portfolio.
- Analyze information received to assess risk and develop action plans to minimize Credit Union exposure.
- Business Development
- Maintain an effective business development and community involvement strategy to protect and expand share of profitable Commercial business.
- Utilize an extensive network of referral resources to identify opportunities.
- Liaison and Collaboration
- Liaise with professional service providers such as Central 1, lawyers, real estate appraisers, credit reporting/collection agencies, and insurers.
- Work co-operatively with all Credit Union branch or department personnel to identify opportunities to ensure members' needs and expectations are profitably met and/or exceeded.
- Portfolio Management
- Retain and expand Commercial relationships to achieve portfolio retention, sales, service, and profitability objectives.
- Proactively develop relationships with new Commercial members.
- Compliance and Credit Reviews
- Complete annual credit reviews in a timely manner according to policy.
- Coordinate financial information requirements with the Commercial Administration Department.
- Business-related University Degree/College Diploma, or appropriate combination of Business and lending-related courses.
- 3-7 years progressive commercial lending experience.
- Knowledge of the Credit Union system would be an asset.
- Able to be decisive and firm, while demonstrating empathy.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent sales and service skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
