Position Overview

Join the Radiology Team at Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Radiological Technologist 1

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a dedicated Radiological Technologist 1 to become a vital part of the General Radiology team. This role involves working within a collaborative environment to provide exceptional imaging services.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging procedures while adhering to safe radiation protection protocols. Responsibilities include: processing and fulfilling requisitions, inputting relevant information into the Radiology Information System (RIS), preparing patients for imaging procedures, operating radiographic and computerized imaging devices, including the processing of images and data archiving, monitoring patients throughout procedures, ensuring equipment functionality, maintaining cleanliness and organization of examination areas.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

Certification from the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).

Skills & Competencies

Proven knowledge and application of safe operational procedures with diagnostic imaging equipment. Ability to perform radiographic examinations in accordance with departmental protocols. Familiarity with evidence-based practices relevant to the imaging modality. Understanding of organizational policies, procedures, and standards of care, including safe operational practices. Knowledge of research methodologies and processes. Proficiency in PACS/Radiology Information Systems, digital imaging, and data management. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, colleagues, and healthcare professionals. Competence in operating related equipment. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Capacity to prioritize workload in cooperation with team members. Proficiency in CPR techniques. Computer literacy, including the ability to utilize a computerized client care information system effectively. Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

Additional Information

Work hours, including days off and work areas, may be adjusted based on operational needs and in accordance with applicable agreements and regulations. Successful candidates may be required to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.

As per current Public Health Orders, all employees at Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have received a single dose of the most recent COVID-19 vaccine. Proof of vaccination status will be necessary.
