Job Overview

Cari is seeking a skilled Project Leader to enhance its dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design comprehensive municipal roadway, transit infrastructure, and active transportation projects for significant municipalities;
  • Guide engineering personnel in the creation of environmental assessments, detailed design plans, contract documentation, engineering specifications, and cost projections for municipal roadway initiatives;
  • Supervise the design process utilizing advanced computer-aided design tools (e.g., CAD, transportation software);
  • Facilitate and participate in client and community meetings;
  • Assist in drafting correspondence, engineering reports, and specifications;
  • Lead a team of professionals while maintaining effective communication with clients and subconsultants;
  • Offer technical mentorship and guidance to junior staff members;
  • Efficiently manage project timelines, budgets, quality assurance, and safety protocols;
  • Contribute to business development efforts and proposal submissions;
  • Engage in a variety of additional tasks aimed at fostering personal and professional growth within a transportation engineering context;
  • Conduct Quality Management reviews to ensure adherence to corporate policies and documentation standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of experience in roadway transportation design;
  • Familiarity with Ontario Provincial Standards and relevant GTHA Standard Tender Documents for Unit Price Contracts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of experience in the transportation planning and design engineering sector is preferred;
  • Understanding of applicable design standards including those issued by TAC and MTO;
  • Knowledge of the Municipal Class EA process;
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (and Civil3D) and/or MicroStation (and InRoads), along with other roadway design software;
  • Exceptional communication and verbal skills in English, along with strong documentation and proposal writing abilities;
  • While this role is primarily focused on municipal projects, experience with MTO as a project manager and lead design engineer will be valued.
