The Manager of the Centre of Industrial Simulation and Prototyping at Georgian College plays a pivotal role in steering the technical dimensions of applied research initiatives. This position encompasses overseeing the conception, fabrication, integration, and evaluation of specialized equipment, alongside managing routine operations, financial documentation, budget formulation, and project advancement. The role necessitates collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, supervising personnel, and ensuring the centre achieves its strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct applied research initiatives and coordinate multidisciplinary activities
  • Initiate new research endeavors through outreach to external collaborators
  • Offer technical guidance for project progression
  • Organize dissemination efforts and present research outcomes at various events
  • Guarantee that financial and operational objectives are fulfilled
  • Develop budgets, assess financial risks, and report to upper management
  • Oversee Researchers, Student Researchers, and Research Assistants
  • Represent the centre at external functions and create communication materials

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng) is mandatory
  • Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred
  • A minimum of nine years of experience in automation and mechatronics
  • Robust financial management and human resources experience
  • Exceptional communication and conflict resolution abilities
  • Proficient in Design Software and MS Office
