Position Overview:
As a Proposal Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the business development and expansion of Altus Group's Development Advisory Group. This position will primarily focus on proposal management, including research, analysis, development, tracking, and composition of proposals for both prospective and existing clients, along with some content management duties. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is also advantageous. Strong writing capabilities are essential. We seek an individual who can research and comprehend our services and client needs, then articulate that understanding into clear, concise, and persuasive content. The successful applicant will be responsible for organizing and assisting senior practitioners throughout the complete proposal and presentation preparation cycle for engagement opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with management, technical, proposal, and marketing teams to deliver proposals tailored to each project's specific requirements and timelines.
- Ensure proposals are submitted through the appropriate channels (online, hand-delivered, etc.) by established deadlines.
- Research relevant procurement platforms for potential opportunities as lead consultants and sub-consultants.
- Input leads into Salesforce and update them as they progress to proposals and projects.
- Generate reports for technical staff to follow up on pending or held proposals.
- Coordinate with various departments (IT, HR, etc.) to gather information necessary for standard responses required for proposals.
- Conduct research to draft new materials and/or revise existing content.
Position Requirements:
- Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree in Marketing, Business, English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in writing-focused environments.
- Familiarity with the professional services, construction, or real estate sectors.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in technical writing.
- Ability to engage and build relationships with management and staff at all organizational levels.
- Proven capability to organize, prioritize, and manage people and information to produce high-quality documents under pressure; demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changing demands.
- Advanced MS Office skills, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint; experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Salesforce is considered an asset; ability to learn new software as needed.
- Must be able to create visually appealing proposals and informational materials, format, insert images/graphics, manipulate layouts, etc., in accordance with Altus Group branding guidelines.
