Position Overview:

Are you passionate about data and eager to tackle complex business challenges? If so, the role of Senior Data Analyst may be the perfect fit for you.

The Growth and Performance Marketing team within Sun Life's Client Experience Office (CXO) is undergoing a significant transformation. We are continuously launching and testing innovative ideas, platforms, and solutions to generate new leads and identify opportunities for existing clients and group members.

As a Senior Data Analyst on the Client Acquisition Analytics team, you will be part of a large analytics community, focusing on the Growth and Performance Marketing sector. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, extracting data for business insights, analyzing and interpreting trends using statistical methodologies, reporting on business performance, and addressing code and data-related challenges.

You will support several key initiatives aligned with our vision of expanding our client base, enhancing advisor lead conversion, and championing the Retail Leads Data Modernization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate closely with business partners to identify and solve complex business challenges through data-driven solutions.
  2. Conduct analytic work from requirements gathering, data collection, and analysis to presenting findings that address business issues.
  3. Serve as a subject matter expert in prospect, client, and advisor data while working with stakeholders across Sun Life.
  4. Provide ongoing support to uncover opportunities that will drive incremental sales.
  5. Develop metrics and KPIs to evaluate the performance of analytical and data products within the overall portfolio.
  6. Assist with the annual business plan, monthly sales forecasts, and insight analysis.
  7. Streamline reporting processes and synthesize key metrics into impactful dashboards to monitor and assess the success of business initiatives.
  8. Facilitate reporting automation, enable self-service analytics, and promote a culture of analytics-driven decision-making.

Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of experience working with data, including quantitative analysis, data manipulation, hypothesis testing, data modeling, and visualization.
  2. 5+ years of experience with SQL, proficient in writing accurate and efficient complex queries to extract and integrate data from various database sources.
  3. Experience with AWS data tools (e.g., Glue, Redshift, SageMaker) and knowledge of Python/Pyspark.
  4. Ability to communicate data-driven insights clearly and succinctly through oral and written storytelling.
  5. Strong partnership approach with a commitment to meeting the unique needs and expectations of business partners.
  6. In-depth skills in prioritization, planning, and change management to stay within the time and scope of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Quick learner of new applications and processes with minimal guidance.
  8. Proficient in documenting work processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 2+ years of experience in data visualization/dashboarding with Tableau or equivalent tools.
  2. Understanding of predictive and prescriptive techniques (e.g., regression, decision trees, forecasting).
  3. Experience with Salesforce.
  4. MSc in a statistical, mathematical, or technical field (e.g., computer science) is preferred.
  5. Familiarity with additional statistical programming languages (e.g., SAS/R).
  6. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Access.
  7. The selected candidate will be required to obtain Canadian Reliability Security Clearance.
