About the Role

Edelman Data & Intelligence is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our Data and Intelligence team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing business insights and consultative support to our account teams to drive business results for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day research support to assist clients in meeting their research objectives through media monitoring and analysis.
  • Responsible for day-to-day administration of research initiatives, including implementation and oversight of studies, and responding to ad-hoc research requests.
  • Effectively distill data into coherent analysis, insights, and actionable recommendations in straightforward and simple language and communicate research findings in visually engaging PowerPoint presentations or Dashboards.
  • Support the development of quantitative and qualitative analyses that lead to strategic insights and recommendations against a client's marketing and communications efforts and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with external research vendors throughout the research process: data collection, data processing, and results reporting.
  • Support Senior Staff in effectively distilling data into coherent analysis, insights, and actionable recommendations in straightforward and simple language and communicate research findings in visually engaging PowerPoint presentations.
  • Act as a lead on Q&A of outgoing reports to ensure deliverables meet standards.
  • Participate in client presentations and support new business pitches specific to custom primary research, measurement strategy, campaign analysis, landscape analyses, content optimization, etc.
  • Stay informed about client industries, including their technologies, products, target markets, and competitors.
  • Maintain strong internal and external relationships; support fellow team members and an inclusive team environment.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Must have 1-3 years of relevant experience in data, analytics, or research with potential areas including consulting, advertising, media, or publishing, ideally from a communications agency or research house.
  • Experience with the development of research and measurement frameworks based on clearly defined objectives.
  • A demonstrated ability to think critically, solve problems, and develop a narrative based on data-driven insights.
  • Strong project management skills, including timeline development and project scoping.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, and the ability to understand and maintain data integrity.
  • Strong understanding of structuring and executing research, such as audience segmentation and key driver analysis.
  • Proven ability to analyze, organize, and translate substantial amounts of data and information into clear and concise, story-telling focused presentations and plans.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including strong skills in document and presentation development.
  • Ability to collaborate, develop, and implement measurement strategies.
  • Strategic yet creative thinker and self-starter, who is able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with platforms and syndicated data sets like Brandwatch, Sysomos, Meltwater, comScore, SimilarWeb, Global Web Index, Mintel, Statista, IBIS World, etc.
  • Strong PowerPoint design skills and abilities, including the ability to communicate quantitative data into a visually engaging story and organize/integrate large amounts of information into concise presentation.
  • An understanding of data visualization tools like PowerBI or Tableau is a bonus.
  • Chinese language skills and understanding of the Chinese media landscape are a bonus.
