About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Care Paramedic to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for practicing within the Advanced Care Paramedic scope of practice, demonstrating competencies in patient care, and maintaining and enhancing their skills through ongoing professional development.

You will contribute to the efficiency and effective functioning of our department, supporting the development of colleagues and students through precepting and mentorship.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in paramedicine, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include:

  • Grade XII required
  • Registered and licensed with the College of Paramedics of Nova Scotia (CPNS) required
  • One (1) year of experience working as an Advanced Care Paramedic an asset
  • Current BLS (HCP) Certification required
  • Previous work experience in a hospital setting or emergency care preferred
  • Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, patient assessment, and telecommunication skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours

This is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation and Incentives

The successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $36.57 and may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
