Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at CB Canada in Saskatoon. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our fleet of buses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on buses, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with buses, including engine and transmission problems.
  • Work with shop management to prioritize and schedule repairs, ensuring minimal downtime for our fleet.
  • Conduct semi-annual government inspections on buses to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Complete all necessary documentation for mechanical repairs, including work orders and repair records.
  • Supervise and train apprentice mechanics to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties.
  • Identify areas for additional training and assist in the training of apprentice mechanics to improve their skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Journeyman ticket in Heavy Duty Mechanics.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a heavy equipment or transportation setting.
  • Valid driver's license, preferably Class 2 or 3.
  • Safety inspection certification through SGI, an asset.
  • Experience working with Prevost coaches, an asset.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software.
  • Own hand tools.
