We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at SSR Mining. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for providing mechanical support and expertise to our underground and surface operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy duty equipment, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion of tasks.
- Interpret technical manuals and work orders to diagnose and repair equipment issues.
- Overhaul, maintain, service, and recondition mining equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct thorough inspections to detect faults and malfunctions, and determine the extent of required repairs.
- Adjust and repair or replace defective parts, and test repaired equipment for proper performance.
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work as required.
- Provide guidance and training to junior mechanics and other departments as needed.
- Assist in forecasting parts requirements and make recommendations for repair and improvement.
- Interprovincial Heavy Duty trade certification (Technical mechanical diploma considered).
- Minimum two-three (2-3) years' experience in heavy-duty equipment maintenance.
- Alimak experience an asset.
This position involves a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off schedule at our remote camp, with fly-in/fly-out arrangements from Saskatoon, Prince Albert, and La Ronge.
