PROJECT MANAGER/ENGINEER

POSITION OVERVIEW

As an integral member of our New Product Development Team, you will oversee the management, coordination, and execution of designated engineering projects. Your role will ensure that all tasks are completed accurately and on schedule, from the initial design phase through to implementation and potential production launch.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct assigned projects with an emphasis on defining scope and requirements, managing risks, reporting progress, coordinating essential project activities, tracking advancements, managing changes, and ensuring adherence to budget constraints.
  • Guarantee that all components of the project are executed as intended.
  • Compile data and generate technical and financial reports detailing project status, including completed and pending tasks, in line with the established reporting framework.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with other Engineering Groups and departments to ensure smooth project coordination and execution.
  • Assist in the engineering release process as necessary.
  • Organize and lead essential project design reviews, including applicable FMEA and hazard analyses.
  • Interpret customer specifications, technical summaries, vendor quotes, and other contractual documents to ensure compliance, and engage in design reviews.
  • Collaborate with vendors and customers on design-related matters, ensuring documented Supplier Application Approval for new installations or applications where applicable.
  • Provide engineering support to Sales (bid assistance), Production, Quality Assurance, Customer Service Support, and other departments as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma, or equivalent.
  • Registered (or eligible for registration) as a Professional Engineer or Certified Engineering Technologist.
  • A minimum of five years of design-related experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Prior leadership or Project Management experience is essential.
  • Familiarity with bus mechanical and electrical systems and functions.
  • Proficient in professional communication, with strong written and verbal skills.
  • Excellent time-management abilities and capacity to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Advanced problem-solving capabilities utilizing creativity, critical thinking, and reasoning.
