We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Specialist to join our team at CAE Inc. As a key member of our Global Procurement & Supply Management team, you will play a critical role in driving competitive category and supply strategies to reduce costs while ensuring perfect execution, process optimization, and risk mitigation across transportation and logistics services.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and results-driven professional to work closely with internal customers, stakeholders, and suppliers to develop and execute strategic sourcing and procurement plans that align with our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides Strategic Business Support:

    • Understand internal customer needs and support local procurement strategies.

    • Provide direction and support related to category management and strategic sourcing to achieve corporate and divisional business objectives.

    • Develop and execute strategies to integrate suppliers within CAE's current supplier landscape and in alignment with global and local categories strategies.

    • Provide recommendations to internal stakeholders and establish and maintain effective partnering relationships within the Business Units and internal support organizations and externally with suppliers.

    • Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements with internal customers and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the Organization to meet annual objectives and long-term strategies.

    • Drive continuous improvement and support the current business transformation within the scope of work.

  • For the Assigned Categories:

    • Lead the formulation and implementation of category strategies. Conduct category intelligence research and partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities and channel innovation.

    • Conduct cross-functional cost reduction, cost avoidance, and/or net cash working capital improvement initiatives. Build a culture and deliver sustainable value without compromising supply assurance or quality.

    • Apply Category Management best practices and principles. If necessary, depending on the category, participate in global category councils.

    • Support Purchasing and Project teams in resolving issues with key suppliers.

    • Follow relevant category metrics to consistently deliver the expected cost reduction plans.

  • Develops and Manages Supplier Relationships:

    • Conduct Supplier Relationship Management framework with key suppliers.

    • Utilize a set of legal, commercial, and business principles to enforce partnership agreements with strategic suppliers, in close relation with Legal and other relevant departments.

    • Locate appropriate vendors and develop sustainable partnerships in compliance with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) policies and other standards.

    • Conduct market intelligence to identify relevant external innovations and seek competitive advantages by partnering with world-class suppliers.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Management, Engineering, Operations, or other applicable discipline required.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French. Other languages considered an asset.

  • Required proficiency in Microsoft Suite products, including but not limited to, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. BI considered an asset.

  • Knowledge of the aviation industry considered an asset.

Experience
  • Required minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience including strategic sourcing, category and vendor management, purchasing, and/or material management.

  • Transportation and Logistics experience and/or equivalent experience.

  • Experience with Oracle ERP/P2P, SAP, and Ariba considered an asset.
