Key Responsibilities- Hire, Supervise and Schedule Staff: Recruit, train, and manage a team of greenhouse workers to ensure optimal productivity and efficiency.
- Organize Planting and Maintenance: Plan and coordinate the planting, pruning, and harvesting of crops, as well as the maintenance of greenhouse equipment and facilities.
- Resolve Work Problems: Provide technical guidance and support to staff to resolve issues and improve productivity and product quality.
- Schedule Events and Programs: Coordinate events, programs, and activities to promote the greenhouse and its products.
- Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement plans for the maintenance and upkeep of greenhouse grounds and facilities.
- Plan and Estimate Labour and Materials: Estimate labour and material requirements for projects and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Maintain Work Records and Logs: Keep accurate records of work completed, materials used, and staff performance.
- Tender and Administer Contracts: Manage contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Repair and Maintain Equipment: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on greenhouse equipment and facilities.
- Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment and Supplies: Procure materials, equipment, and supplies as needed to support greenhouse operations.
- Supervise Nursery and Greenhouse Workers: Provide guidance and support to staff to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Personal Suitability: Initiative, team player, flexibility, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Work Term: Permanent.
- Work Language: English.
- Hours: 32 hours per week.
