Financial Analyst

The Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA) department at SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA is a global organization with local presence, providing financial services through global and efficient processes and consistent norms, leveraging on production hubs. The FPA department is the sole provider of actionable financial reports and analysis to assist SGS management in steering the financial performance of the Americas.
Key Responsibilities
- Consolidate financials for management reporting
- Lead the Americas Budget process
- Prepare forecasts
- Produce financial trend analysis
- Certify SGS costs
- Contribute to monthly closings
- Ensure alignment with norms around performance management
- Analyze and present SGS financial performance to senior management
Our Core Missions in the Americas
- Quality and timeliness of SGS financial statements and dashboards
- Assist SGS management and all Business Lines in their steering with actionable reports on financial performance and forecasts
- Financial communication and presentation of forecasts and trends
- Coordinate the Americas Budget process and support the forecasting exercise
What You Will Do
As a Financial Analyst in the Americas, you will be responsible for defining and providing actionable reports and analysis to assist SGS support functions management in their financial steering. You will serve as a Point of Contact for all financial aggregates with the regional and local management in Canada, drive the local performance analysis, and collaborate with the FP&A team in New York as well as the Accounts Payables (AP) team and the Legal entity controllers in Canada to ensure optimal quality in the production of reports and other input data in the FP&A processes.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Accounting knowledge, Budgeting, Forecasting, Reporting, Data management
- Bachelor's degree
- Good analytical, presentation, and communication skills
- Well-organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to perform multiple tasks and adapt to a changing work environment
- Ability to work independently with tight deadlines
- Strong system skills and knowledge for Financial Modelling, PowerBI Report Creation, Managing Data, Power Query Data manipulation, and Alteryx
- 5+ years of experience
- Demonstrate the ability to work within a Team
- An energetic and determined attitude
- Adaptability and willingness to work with people from different cultures
Language
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
