Position Overview

Summary:

The selected candidate will collaborate with diverse project teams to deliver electrical engineering and associated technical insights. Responsibilities will encompass the integration of process, mechanical, and control specifications into cohesive electrical systems. Projects will primarily emphasize design and analysis, including the preparation of plans and specifications, report writing, and cost estimation, along with the foundational design of power and control systems. The role will involve work related to industrial processing facilities, energy generation plants, mining operations, and municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities.

This position also entails project management responsibilities, mentoring junior staff, providing technical guidance, leading teams to fulfill client requirements, and engaging in business development initiatives. The role may require occasional short-term travel for project assignments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power or control systems.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a design or management role on projects pertinent to the responsibilities outlined above within a consulting engineering or industrial setting.
  • Experience in an industrial production environment, such as mining, power generation, petroleum refining, or chemical manufacturing.
  • Proficient understanding of applicable codes, standards, laws, and regulations related to the described project assignments.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members in a dynamic environment that promotes self-initiative.
  • Flexibility in work style and willingness to adjust personal schedules to meet project deadlines and client needs.
  • Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng.) license in at least one U.S. or Canadian jurisdiction.
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada without the need for sponsorship.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in production environments.
  • Demonstrated skills in project organization and management.
  • Strong client relationship and business development capabilities.
  • Experience with AutoCAD software.
  • Familiarity with SKM Power Tools or E-Tap software for coordination and arc flash analysis.
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley PLC and HMI programming tools.
  • Experience in the start-up and commissioning of industrial projects.

A hybrid work arrangement may be available for this position, allowing for a combination of office and remote work.

Note: Some work locations may involve challenging terrain typical of construction sites or require the handling of field testing equipment. Safety training will be provided prior to assignment on these sites. Candidates may be required to participate in a drug screening program as requested by specific clients.
