We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team at Northern Sustainable Developments ltd. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship and attention to detail in all aspects of carpentry.
Key Responsibilities- Site Preparation: Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools to ensure accuracy and precision.
- Carpentry Work: Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials to build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
- Installation and Finishing: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware to ensure a high-quality finish.
- Project Management: Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites to ensure timely completion and minimal disruption.
- Training and Supervision: Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their tasks effectively.
- Education and Certification: Registered Apprenticeship certificate and Carpenter Trade Certification.
- Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in carpentry.
- Physical Demands: Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy and dusty environments.
- Transportation: Own vehicle and valid driver's licence.
- Personal Qualities: Accurate, efficient interpersonal skills, judgement, reliability, team player, and values and ethics.
- Work Environment: 40 hours per week, with a focus on quality and safety.
