Role Overview

As a Clinical Nutrition Specialist I, you will play a crucial role in the assessment and management of nutritional care for patients. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing comprehensive nutrition evaluations and assessments for patients, utilizing established protocols and guidelines, and gathering pertinent information.
  • Creating and executing individualized nutritional care plans that reflect the specific needs of patients, while adhering to the standards set by the relevant regulatory body.
  • Continuously monitoring patient progress to ensure that nutritional objectives are being met, collaborating with healthcare teams to make necessary adjustments to care plans.
  • Accurately documenting all assessments, care plans, and recommendations in compliance with established policies and legal requirements.
  • Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient nutritional status and contribute to care planning.
  • Providing nutritional education and counseling to patients and their families, addressing ongoing needs and facilitating necessary changes.
  • Engaging in the development and refinement of evidence-based nutrition management guidelines and educational materials.
  • Coordinating with food service teams to ensure the effective implementation of nutrition care plans and addressing any related concerns.

Qualifications

  • Current registration with the appropriate regulatory body.
  • Completion of an accredited Dietetic Internship Program or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a clinical setting.

Skills & Knowledge

  • In-depth understanding of clinical nutrition principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with the standards of practice established by the regulatory body.
  • Knowledge of nutrition management for various health conditions.
  • Strong ability to develop and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.
